They are a Montreal based duo that is greatly known for their dubstep remixes success such as “Flight Facilities - Crave You (Adventure Club Remix)” and “Yuna - Lullabies (Adventure Club Remix)”. I had the pleasure of checking these guys out at there early set at Ultra 2013 and they were definitely top 10 set I saw at the 2 weekend festival.

Adventure Club we salute you and I look forward to another epic encounter!

Going into the Weekend!

Going into the weekend we have two iconic Aussie's gracing Toronto who are none other than Nervo! It is really exciting to see these two beauties back in the great white north and you know that they are going to bring madness Uniun nightclub on Friday. We have all seen the raise to the amount of new and up and coming DJ’s hit the scene in the recent years but they do not bring up as much hype, sexiness and craziness as these two ladies.  Watch them live, see how much fun they have doing what they do and with the crowd, it is amazing.  In late 2012 they released a track with the Dutchman Nicky Romeo called Like Home – it is a wicked track and will definitely get you jumping!

Also happening Friday will see Chase & Status take over the small island of Barbados at Sugar Ultra lounge. I absolutely love that this UK duo is venturing into the island to spread their drum and bass and dubstep vibe.  From what I have seen and heard so far on the island is that people are embracing it.  I myself am not a big DnB fan but am very interested in seeing the mashup of the UK and island style they bring.

Also happening in the city of Toronto worth checking out:
DATSIK, BRILLZ, BARRON, and HYDEE, will be at Guvernment, more info here
Bad boy bill will be at Cinema, more info here

An Italian, Dutch and Canadian kind of weekend!

Davide Squillace, the Italian superstar will be spinning his melodic lounge and tech house track this evening at Cobra Nightclub Dec 14.  Davide has recently graced the legendary Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 hosted by Pete Tong this past September.  The Essential Mix is a platform where new and already discovered talent can express their music to the world in a digital form.  Tickets can be purchased for the Cobra event here.

If you haven’t already heard, Afrojack will be in Toronto on Friday playing at Uniun Nightclub for their stellar ‘Factory Fridays’.  The Dutch sensation is one of the world’s top house Dj’s and producers who continues to light up festivals and dance floors across the world.  The beauty of this event is that it is a small venue that will leave no restrictions for the Dutchman to play his bangers or experiment a bit with his style. Friday show is currently sold out as of today but there will surely be resale tickets available online and outside the event.

Friday will also see a Hed Kandi Christmas held at Cinema.  Here you will find Andy Warburton featuring his “Good looking house” music.  Hed Kandi events are always a good time have seen there way around Toronto at various venues in the city.  Online tickets can be found here for purchase.

Keeping the cold OUT this weekend

The weekend is fast approaching and for some they will be taking advantage of “Friday chico” (tonight).  At this moment Boys Noize is probably setting fire to New Gas City tonight in Montreal than taking over the Sound Academy on Friday.  Alexander Ridha, Boys Noize real name, is a Germany DJ and producer who has been well established in electronic and techno music since 2005.  Alex is currently on a world tour and playing long side Dj’s such as Skrillex, Steve Aoki, The Prodigy, Ellie Goulding and various other acts.

Friday will see Roger Sanchez, the brilliant DJ/producer from Queens, playing at Uniun nightclub smashing his house and tribal sounds. I have had the pleasure of seeing Roger in Chile at Club Suka and it was an amazing party full of classics and new tunes.  RL Grime and Torro torro will be spinning at the Hoxton to give you your trap fix.  Oh man I am really loving trap these days, after been given a proper dose from Diplo in the summer at Electric Zoo there was no turning back. Friday will also see Pete Tong touching down in Pacha NYC as well as fellow Brits Chase and Status who will be playing at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
For all the Torontonians looking for a winter outdoor/indoor festival tickets to ‘Brrrrr! Winter Music Festival!’ Go on sale tomorrow at 10 am.  The festival will be held at Echo Beach at Ontario Place.  The current line-up includes: Dubfire, Moby, Chus & Ceballos, Magda, and Deniz Koyu.  It should bring the EDM lovers a fix for the winter blue’s, yes it is cold outside but the troopers will be out and not too worry there is a indoor area for the less brave. Tickets range from 40-50 for the 2-day festival which is quite reasonable and would be a great stocking stuffer for that hardcore partier!  Tickets available here.

Saturday inside of the Guvernment DEKO-ZE will be bringing his high-energy house sounds to his home crowd.  Check out this great live set to see how hard he will be working to make you move your feet:

Toronto, the new Miami?

With Decembers ‘Factory Fridays’ posted you would think that INK is on its way of making Toronto the new Miami.  Get ready for it: Roger Sanchez, Afrojack with Shermanology, Funkagenda, and Calvin Harris with Jacob Plant. I know, I still cannot believe it! The weather might still be cold outside but you know it's going to be hot inside Uniun.

But before December comes we will have the Swedish duo AN21 & Max Vangeli Phasing out Novembers ‘Factory Fridays’ at Uniun.  The two Swed’s are known for their banging house sounds and their releases and remixes with some of the industry’s greats such as Tiesto, Swedish House Mafia, Michael Woods and Ellie Goulding.  You do not have to dig to deep to know that AN21 is the brother of the world famous Steve Angelo of SHM.  Steve has seen the talent Max and his brother and has signed them to his label, Size Records.  Opening for them is NO_ID and Friday residence Manzone and Strong.

Hot forecast for Toronto this weekend

This weekend is sure to be a big one around the city of Toronto as big talent is sent to hit up 4 great venues: Uniun, the Maison, the Hoxton and the Guvernment.

Union nightclub is gearing up to have its 3rd major Dutch DJ in the past 4 weeks. Fedde le Grand, ranked in the top 30 in world by DJ Mag, will be sure to blow the roof off with his own produced tracks and other house anthems.  Fedde has brought us huge club hits like ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’, ‘So much love to give’ and ‘Sparks’. Fedde will have the help of Manzone & Strong and Dberrie opening up to help set the tone for the evening.

There is also a huge party set to rock off at the Hoxton bringing you dubstep, hip hop and trap beats from some of the industries finest. Araabmuzik, Baauer and Samo Sound are set to take over the spot. Do your self a favor and watch a live set from Araabmuzik if you haven’t already seen him do his thing yourself with him; truly mind-blowing.

The last major event on Friday is being set by the Maison Mercier where Steve Lawyer the British DJ/Producer will be laying down techno, house, tech and tribal house. Steve has played Ultra to Ibiza and recently is on a world tour with VIVA Music. The mason will be sure to hit its 1300 person capacity this night as it will be met with Toronto has a strong Lawyer following.

Don’t wear yourself out too much on Friday because the Guvernment Entertainment Complex is set to host VIVA on Saturday night. Have a look at the lineup of superstars they have waiting for you: Knife Party and Nicky Romero (Kool Haus), ATB, Tritonal, Super8 & TAB and Rudee (Guvernment) and AC Slater, Harvard Bass and Flinch at (CHROMA). The legendary talent of ATB will bring his trance vibe and balance of current remixes and classics like ‘9pm (till I come)’ or ‘Don’t Stop‘ to energize the crowds.  Knife party has the ability to bring that wide range of music like dubstep, moombahton and house to the table that will cause for a disruptive and wild party.  Nicky Romero is also set to hit it off, the 23 year old Dutchman known for Sparks and Metropolis has taken a meteoric rise to fame and sits at number 17 on DJ Mag’s top 100.

Sidney Samson to Rock Uniun Nightclub

Sidney Samson the Dutch sensation is in Toronto set to Spin at Uniun nightclub as a part of there ‘Factory Fridays’.  Last week a fellow Dutchman R3hab took over the club and Sidney is expected to put on a similar spectacle. Sidney is know for his electro and Dutch house sounds best expressed through his single ‘Riverside’.  His artillery is full of big smash remixes.

Mr. Samson also holds a residency at Privilege nightclub in Ibiza during the club season that is renown for being the biggest club in the world (according to Guinness book of world records). His night is “Don’t Let Daddy Know” where he brings his friends who are big in the scene as well as the up and coming talent.

Uniun, in my mind is one of the hottest clubs in Toronto at the moment.  They have all of their bases covered; the best talent, amazing light and sound system and the clientele that is sexy and fun. It is worth noting that last week they opened up for Saturday nights to expend their reach to the people. I look forward to seeing what the December line-up looks like but first I will gladly enjoy what November has to offer!

M&S to DVBBS to R3HAB, Toronto loves you!

Toronto was in for a serious treat Friday night when all 3 heavy hitters took over Uniun Night Club.  Manzone & Strong, DVBBS and R3HAB took over the second ‘Factory Friday’ hosted at the newly opened venue.  M&S the resident duo opened the club in usual fashion elevating the crowd early on in the night.

As it hit 12:00 you got the wild woozy sound of DVBBS smashing the speakers and really energizing the crowd.  The two Toronto brother, who recently passed 31, 000 fans on facebook, are becoming a real favorite of mine.  It is more than a show it is an experience, the combination of cranking out powerful tunes and interacting with the builds and incredible atmosphere. It is no wonder that these two are opening for acts like Calvin Harris and sharing the stages of greats like Tiesto, Steve Aoiki and MSTRKRFT.

Then we had R3HAB taking the reigns and really getting deep into the crowds senses. You could truly feel his passion and participation in the crowd’s energy.  He took people to a level and kept them there increased slightly and let them play there for a while longer until the massive drop hit! That along with the coordinated light system made it an epic moment that the club has not yet seen. R3HAB is on a world tour and is set to be a part of an epic New Years Eve party ‘JACKEDNYE’ in New York City along side Afrojack, Shermanology, Bobby Burns and Quintino at pier 94.

It is somewhat unbelievable that Uniun Night Club has only been open for 2 weeks now and it feels like home to most clientele.  This show has been the favorite of the Factory Friday so far but there is so much more coming up that one cannot imagine where these next set of DJ’s will take us.

Upcoming events at UNIUN:
Nov 16, 2012 Sidney Samson
Nov 30, 2012 AN21 and Max Vangeli

Toronto needs R3HAB!

On Friday November 9, 2013 Toronto will receive a much-needed dose of R3HAB.  The 26 year old Dutch DJ and producer will be playing at UNIUN nightclub along with DVBBS and Manzone & Strong. R3HAB who has hit the DJ Mag top 100 at spot number 73 is well accomplished in his field and is in the ranks among the best in the world.  He has contributed to remixing for artists such as:  Calvin Harris, Lil’ Wayne, Ne-Yo, Pitbull, Dada Life, Snoop Dogg and Bob Sinclar.

In an interview, Fadil El Ghoul who is known as R3HAB expresses "AfroJack helped me a lot. I was support act on his tour, he helped me with lots of stuff and advice. We did lots of gigs together, which was amazing." The industry has changed over the last few years and Dj/producers are not so much as competing with each other but are making an effort to collaborate.

DVBBS are not to be under estimated, they are a big-ticket item on this ballot.  They are popping everywhere opening for huge acts such as Dada Life and playing at festivals internationally.  They have a great sound and I look forward to the energy they bring to the nightlife scene. There recently announced the New Years Eve event “Golden” held in Niagara Falls Canada will be epic and will see them alongside Deadmau5, Chris Lake, Burns and the Scour Dj’s.

Uniun nightclub recently played host to CHUS+CEBALLOS and did an excellent job at making the duo feel at home with a packed crowd at the clubs soft opening night.  The sights and sounds kept the party going past 4am and it is no doubt that the anticipation for R3HAB will be no different. Be sure to get your tickets now and arrive early to avoid disappointment!

Upcoming events at UNIUN:
Nov 09, 2012 R3HAB and DVBBS
Nov 16, 2012 Sidney Samson
Nov 30, 2012 AN21 and Max Vangeli
